👾 THE RETRO TECH GIFT GUIDE 🎄
NFC-chipped nails, AI-powered plant pots, artist merch, handmade crypto candles, wearable tech you ACTUALLY want to wear, a LOT of books & more...
Welcome to BLOG by LAN Party, the monthly newsletter by Vienna Kim & Benoit Palop that investigates and critiques how we engage with curation, art & culture in the digital and onchain era.
If you would like to support our work, the best way to do so is to subscribe to our Hypersub or Substack and share things that you like in our newsletter on social media. You can even earn 10% on all referrals on Hypersub. :-) This issue is a long one, so you’ll want to read it in your web browser or the Substack app. Let's dig in.
I’m not sure if I could ever get sick of gift guides. There’s something really satisfying about perusing through a list of handpicked goodies by someone whose taste you appreciate and love. Plus, a good gift guide often gives me tons of great holiday ideas, even if I don’t end up buying anything!
For our December issue, we wanted to share our own gift guide, but in a way that felt quirky, unique and aligned with the LAN Party brand. Thus is born: THE RETRO TECH GIFT GUIDE! 🌟
We personally haven’t seen one of these before, and hopefully it will be a fun and refreshing take on the gift guide for you too. Below, we’ve included NFC-chipped nails, AI-powered plant pots, some very cool artists’ merch, handmade crypto candles, wearable tech that is actually fashionable, a selection of video games, a smorgasbord of kind-of-useless-but-I-need-them tech gadgets, a LOT of books, and more! We’ve even managed to snag a few deals and discounts for you. 🫶🏻 Beyond the shopping and commercialisation aspects of this month’s text, however, we hope that you will enjoy the cultural, historical, artistic and sartorial tid-bits that power LAN Party’s energy. And wherever you are in the world and whatever you celebrate, we hope you have a relaxing and joyful holiday season! ✨
Much love,
V & B
